getting there
There are a number of
alternatives: Speed Ferries to
Boulgone – one
of the cheapest operators across the Channel. Some crossings only £50 return for any duration. Bit of a drive down to la frogerie
from Boulogne though – 528 KM. Brittany Ferries to St Malo – 118 KM, Caen – 254 KM
or their Fast Ferry, from Poole to Cherbourg – 258 KM.
Ryan Air fly to Dinard – 122 KM and only 1
hour flight time from Stanstead
on the road
Our preferred
route is
Brittany ferries from Portsmouth to Caen then follow the A84 to Rennes and
cross country to the house. Caen
is much cheaper to go to than St Malo with a crossing time of around 6 hours.
