The weather has been
excellent if not too hot at over 30 most days. The countryside and peace
are both beautiful and relaxing and the BBQ an essential part of our
holiday.
Places well worth a
visit – Zoo at La Fleche, great day for kids and adults. Vitre:- great chateau and
wonderful bars to while away a few hours. La Baule:– huge long sandy beach. The forest nearby is great for
bike riding and a nice walk around the country roads lets you see the
wildlife of the area.

We bought bikes and
cycled most days. Managed to
see a lot of the countryside and found many quiet village bars for
necessary refreshments!
Managed to miss the markets wherever we went but have become
experts in how to dismantle stalls and pack unsold wares into white vans.
La Guerche has particularly good vantage points with bars dotted round
the square.
Madame Oeuf (actually Madam Gendros, the neighbour) must have
thought us mad on our bikes each day. She just kept smiling and waving. Thanks again for a lovely time,
we will be back, if allowed.

La Frogerie has
proved a great base to explore this part of Brittany. Weather has been good. We would recommend the beaches at
La Baule and Dinard, exploring Dinan then dine down by the river at a
nice family run pizzeria, restaurants in Vitre.

We had a lovely stay here
at la frogerie. It rained on Sunday the whole day
and then it has been sunny and we spent most of or time at La Baule. We went to Nantes and we had a
really great time there. It
is great for shops. We would
recommend L’Auberge de Brettonne in Chateaubriant and La Roche aux Fee in
Esse. We like the peace and quiet here.

Firstly, just a note
to say that La Frogerie exceeded all our expectations. The cottage was very fairly, if
modestly, described on the website but it was a absolute delight to spend
the week here breakfasting on pain au chocolat and dining on quiche and
salad in the fantastic fresh air.
All in all, an amazing week of snoozing, laughing, drinking and
overeating and giving a one year old a thoroughly memorable first
holiday.

A very peaceful and
enjoyable week with hot sunny weather for most of the time. Would recommend a visit to
Fougeres, beautiful medieval castle and fort. Also worth a visit is Poelon d’Or in
Chateaubriant, food is superb but not cheap. Great wine, fantastic stars and remember to duck when
you go into the kitchen.

La Frogerie is a
beautifully well maintained clean property. Surrounded by marvellous
countryside. There is an amazing wood burning fire/stove in the living
room unfortunately we did not get to use it as the temperatures were high
while we were there. The house exceeded our expectations by a long way. I
would highly recommend this property for a nice relaxing holiday.

Have found that the
people round here are generally very friendly and have had no difficulty
with French and being encouraged to use it. Highlights of our stay have been Fontevraud
L’Abbe, quite a drive but truly worth while especially if you get an
English guide. The drive
from Saumur along the Loire was also a bonus. Mont St Michel – go later, it’s heaving in the
afternoon.

This is the place for
peace and quiet! We were
fortunate with the weather – mostly sunny, but often a cold wind. The best windbreak we found was
to sit in front of the garage doors. Very comfortable stay, well-equipped gite, loved the
log fire, essential at this time of year.

I am having lots of
fun here and it is very different to were [sic} we live back home in
London. I had my birthday here. It is very comfortable in the bed. I'm
having a great time hear [sic] in France at the beach swimming around. I
am very happy here.

2003 - The cottage is
absolutely great, just what we wanted and hopefully we will be back next
year.
2005 – Once again
another great week at la Frogerie. Le Poelon d’or is a must for food and
service. We also found
another restaurant at Pouance, La Porte Angeine.

The forest just a mile
from the doorstep provided interesting and varied runs, walks and bike
rides bearing in mind the incredible temps. Loved it all.

The great thing about
turning up when it's totally dark is what awaits you in the morning. What
a sight! Fields as far as the eye can see. Nothing to be heard but the
hum of a tractor in the distance and birds singing. The birds are so laid
back they don't start up in the morning until they have had a good lay-in.
La frogerie is a beautiful building with a big welcome. We did the
occasional day trip but found the comfort of the old farmhouse as the
best place to be.

We had a wonderful
week, very peaceful and lots of room for the children to play outside.
Cottage very comfortable and neighbours very friendly. May 2003
AND AGAIN ….We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves
and are sad to be leaving.
Seen two lizards and I have caught 8 grasshoppers before I
released them. Pierre the
stick insect was on the door for a whole day.

Really enjoyable and
relaxing stay. Surrounding countryside is beautiful for walks etc and
local towns such as Vitre, Martigne Ferchaud and Chateaubriant etc very
nice.

This is a great little house, including the mouse,
that gave us a fright, in the middle of the night.
Most days it stayed dry, with fluffy clouds in a blue sky,
when the weather was dire, we came home to light the fire,
The food was just fine, we drank bottles of wine, we've all put on
weight, the holiday was great.

well equipped but the men couldn't find the dishwasher, so we showed them

We had good weather
and the cottage was a lovely cool retreat. We travelled quite widely and
had fun and interesting days at La Baule, Vitre and Fleche Zoos and much
more. We also made good use of the unexpected library of books and store
of games. A very enjoyable and restful holiday

At first I found the
cottage to be too dark and old fashioned but quickly came to appreciate

Oh so laid back, if
you want to catch up on your sleep this is the place. Places to visit,
Vitre, La Baule and just about anywhere. Reminiscent of Ireland, without
the rain, really friendly Folk.
